Doug Means Project (DMP) offers real music that is authentic and organic. Through the lyrics reflecting upon the ups and downs of life, Doug hopes the content will help people live their lives better. The DMP is a blend of California Reggae and Rock. All members of the group are devoted artists who take their craft very seriously, while promoting the enjoyment and celebration of our culture.

DMP has performed across the United States at venues such as:
--The Lighthouse, The Derby, and The Roxy in LA
--House of Blues, OC Fair, and Observatory (Galaxy) in Orange County.
--Dragon's Den in New Orleans
--El Corazon and Wild Buffalo House of Music in Washington State.
--Beachside Tavern in Florida
--In addition, they've played the Opening Ceremony of the LA Galaxy Soccer Team’s season at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.

DMP 1.0, was recorded at the studio of Dave Aron (Snoop Dogg, Sublime) Half the songs were mixed by Dave, and the other half mixed by Shawn Sullivan of World Class Audio (Mars Volta, Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris). The album was mastered by Brian Gardner at Bernie Grundman Studios, and it was released in 2008.

DMP's second full-length CD, DMP 2.0, features guest appearances by Rome from Sublime with Rome, Jr. Demus, and Toko Tasi from Skunk Records. DMP 2.0 also features trombone playing by I Timothy of The Untouchables, and includes 2 bonus songs from Doug’s old band, Nobody Cares. The album was produced by Lewis Richards at 17th St. Studios.

Members:
Doug Means (Vocals, Guitar) is vocally trained by platinum voice coach, Gloria Bennett of the New York Metropolitan Opera. He also works as a music producer for local artists, in addition to performing. He has a BA in Business from Cal State University, Fullerton, and also studied Audio at Long Beach Community College.

Doug Means Project features the eccentric, entertaining Marcus Chavez AKA "Chowdy" on hype-man, vocal duty. The bass is thumped by international low-end man, Justin Ianelli. The reggae/rock rhythm is kept steady by Bizmark on drums. Josh Cardinali, the lead guitarist and one of the band's earliest members, is also an accomplished painter, graphic designer, and music producer. The band is also known to have an awesome horn section featuring Brandon Baker and Justin Peters.
